Make Homemade Dog Beds

BASIC DOG PAD

Materials



  • Old quilt (or sleeping bag-the kind that unzips and opens out suitable square or rectangle)


  • Sewing machine or needle and thread Velcro (optional)


  • Super strong glue (optional)

Instructions



  • Fold the quilt lengthwise by two or thirds


  • Try against eachother at the back of car or doghouse


  • Above all, make sure that it's adequate enough for the dog to lie on!


  • For an inferior dog, block a few of the length


  • Use others as an extra layer or two


  • Sew the sides together or


  • Use Velcro strips at a minimum 3 inches (75mm) long at strategic points


  • Note: Adhesive Velcro is easiest to, but doesn't always stick that well. You may have to secure the strips by sewing those to the information presented or adding a substantial glue

"PILLOWCASE" FOAM BED

Materials



  • An old quilt or sleeping bag


  • Foam pad or items of foam, adequate to match your dog


  • Straight pins


  • Marking pen


  • Needle and thread or sewing machine


  • Velcro or zipper to complement width of pillowcase (optional)

  • One to 2 hours


Estimated Cost Is dependent upon what number of materials you can actually scrounge:



  • Thread: About USD 0. 30


  • Zipper: USD 0. 00 when you take one-time an older couch cushion, sleeping bag something like that you're now not wearing; otherwise as many as USD 6. 00


  • Velcro: About USD 4. 00

Instructions



  • Place the froth on the right side with the material about 1 1/4 inches (30mm) out of your base anyone side (per above)


  • Fold persistent material across the foam


  • Leave the top end end alone


  • Mark the underside and side seam in your marker or pins, leaving a single 1/4 inch (30 mm) seam allowance


  • Cut over excess fabric


  • Sew of the marked seams manually , or machine


  • Turn your pillowcase really well so your pros faces out


  • Insert the foam


  • If you may have enough excess material beginning, you can just fold it below the pad or


  • Add a zipper or Velcro in a fancier finish


  • The Velcro is applied in strips at minimum 3 inches (75mm) long or maybe in one long piece


  • Remember you might still have got to sew the Velcro down or add extra glue, regardless of whether it is the adhesive kind
